Gerry O’Connor

Gerry O’Connor grew up in the town of Dundalk, Co. Louth, in a family filled with musicians, dancers and singers. Learning the fiddle from his mother, Rose, he honed his craft playing with Michael Coleman’s contemporary John Joe Gardiner in the 1970s. His fluid and ornamented fiddle playing in the style of the great Sligo masters has established him as one of the great fiddle players of his generation. A busy touring musician, fiddle teacher, luthier, label owner and producer, Gerry is best known for his seminal recordings with groups Lá Lugh and Skylark.
