Seán Corcoran Series in association
with Droichead Arts Centre presents:

Irish Bouzouki & Stringed Instrument Workshop

Developed specially for the Seán Corcoran Series, luthier Frank Tate will present this one-off workshop on the art and practice of stringed instrument making. He’ll be joined by bouzouki player Dónal Lunny, and they will play and display a range of legacy instruments including the first flatback ‘Irish’ bouzoukis made by luthiers Peter Abnett and Andy Manson, instruments which played a key role in the development of Irish traditional music.

Workshop participants will handle and play these beautiful instruments and a range of Frank’s own superbly crafted mandolins, guitars and baroque replicas.
