Róisin Ní Mhainín

From Rosmuc in the Connemara Gaeltacht, sean-nós dancer Róisín Ní Mháinín was heavily influenced by the older dancers of 1980s Connemara, such as Cóilín Shéain Dharach. Róisín has danced on stages across the world, from Nigeria to the US and with the Irish presidential tour to Brazil in 2000. She has performed and taught sean-nós for over thirty years, winning the sean-nós competition at Oireachtas na Samhna and being appointed dancer in residence at National University of Ireland Galway for 2009–10. She is widely regarded as one of the finest exponents of sean-nós dance.
