Rita Hynes is a bookseller and emerging creative producer whose practice is informed by DIY publishing, counterculture and the bookshop as a curatorial, artistic space.
Producing open calls, reading events, panel discussions and community workshops on zines and print culture in Ireland, she founded the annual Drogheda Zine Fair in association with Droichead Arts Centre and curates The Underground Zine Archive’s collection and events. She formerly managed The Library Project’s art bookshop and for the past two years has been part of the Dublin Art Book Fair team at Temple Bar Gallery + Studios.
In June 2025, Rita launched the first iteration of an experimental bookshop Cailleach Books at The Kiosk Project Art Space, Drogheda.
